Transfer Students

Applicants previously registered at another college or university, following graduation from high school, are considered transfer students.

In order to be considered for admission to SUNY Canton, transfer students must provide the following:

  1. Completed application with application fee
  2. Official high school transcript and college transcripts
    • Meet specific academic standards

Please Note:

  • Transfer credit for previous courses will be determined by the academic dean.
  • Courses completed at another institution transfer only as credits. (letter grades and quality points do not transfer)
Credit for Prior Learning:

Applicants for admission to the college who have attended other institutions of higher learning, completed published proficiency examinations, completed selected college credit courses at the secondary level, have military training and experience, or would like to be considered for life experience credit can find more policy information on page 201 of the Policies and Procedures Manual.
