You are invited to network with SUNY Canton alumni! Meet alumni and friends, enjoy food and mingling, and hear from a panel of accomplished alumni.
The evening will include a panel of alumni who will speak briefly about their own career path since graduating and then take questions from the audience. There will be time before and after the panel discussion for mingling and networking. Refreshments will be served.
Present from the SUNY Canton Alumni Association will be Vice President Anne Sibley, Associate Director Brad Catling, and Director of Student Activities, Priscilla Leggette. Moderating the panel will be Irad Vanterpool, SUNY Canton’s Admissions Counselor for New York City and New Jersey.

Scott Croft ’88
AAS Liberal Arts – Humanities
Scott has worked as Director of Public Relations with BoatUS for nearly 20 years and is responsible for all external publicity and media relations for the half-million member boating services, advocacy and safety organization. Scott’s duties cover all BoatUS departments, including Government Affairs, Consumer Affairs, Towing Services, Insurance as well as the BoatUS Foundation for Safety and Clean Water. At SUNY Canton, Scott was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society.
Ornella Parker ’14
B. Tech, Healthcare Management
Ornella is a special education teacher for the New York City Department of Education. In her position, she prepares annual Individualized Educational Plans to guarantee compliance with laws for students with special needs. In addition, she established a Student Council that provides leadership opportunities and serves the student body, school, and community. Ornella served as the President of the Student Government Association and the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for College Association. She also served as the student representative on the search committee which selected the SUNY Canton’s current President, Dr. Zvi Szafran.
Michael Andrews ’86
AAS, Mortuary Science
Michael is Senior Associate, Data Integrity and Stewardship Practices with the Federal Reserve Board of New York. In addition, Michael is now engaged in doctoral studies at Fielding Graduate University in pursuit of his PhD in Organizational Development and Change (ODC) with a concentration in Media, Technology, and Innovation. At SUNY Canton, Michael was a member of the College Union Board.
Nafeesa Johnson ’11
AAS, Criminal Justice, B. Tech, Law Enforcement Management
Nafeesa is Operations Manager with the Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School (LAB) where she supports student recruitment, family engagement, enrollment and student records, HR, payroll, scheduling, meals programs, physical plants, nursing services, security and school safety programs. As a SUNY Canton student, Nafeesa worked in the Office of Admissions for four years and was elected Student Government Association President in her senior year.
Fitzroy Saunders ’17
AAS, Liberal Arts – General Studies, B.S., Applied Psychology
Fitzroy now works for Democracy Prep Harlem Elementary where, starting at age 5, students cover rigorous material, civic engagement and character education. Fitzroy’s title is Dream Coach, a role which could also be referred to as Dean of Students. Fitzroy was elected Student Government Association Vice President in his senior year at SUNY Canton.
