North Country Rolls Over Morris in Opening Round Of NJCAA Ice Hockey Championships

(Canton, N.Y.)- No. 3 North Country Community College proved to be too much for No. 6 County College of Morris as the Saints posted a 13-1 win over the Titans in the second game of the opening round of the 2008 NJCAA Men's Ice Hockey National Championship at the Canton Pavilion.

North Country, who out shot Morris 80-14, improved to 20-5-1 and will face No. 2 MSU-Bottineau in the semifinals Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. The Titans fell to 13-11-1.

Matt Latham and Colin Port each scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Saints. Ben Starbuck also scored twice. Patrick Tremblay and Clarence Bell each added a goal and an assist and Dan Earles and Chris Lambertsen combined to make 13 saves.

Chris de Itturronde scored for Morris and Sean Griese had 67 saves.
