(Canton, N.Y.)-Sophomore defenseman Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.)
and freshman goaltender James Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) have earned
honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association. Zaryski
has been named a First Team All-American and Merrow is a Second Team
selection.
Zaryski, who made the all-Region III First Team, led all SUNY Canton defensemen with five goals and 15 points in 24 games. The criminal justice major made the all-tournament team at the 2008 NJCAA Ice Hockey Championships in Canton after scoring two goals and leading the Roos into the semifinals.
Merrow, who made the all-Region III Second Team, logged a team-high
941 minutes this year and finished 9-5-1 with a 2.42 goals-against average
and a .928 save percentage with one shutout.
