Small logo (Canton, N.Y.)-Three SUNY Canton men's ice hockey players have received accolades from Region III. Sophomore defenseman Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.) was named to the all-Region III First Team, freshman goalie Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) was named to the Second Team and freshman forward Dylan Gronowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) was named to the all-Rookie Team.

Zaryski, who made the all-Region III Second Team last year, led all SUNY Canton defenseman with five goals and 15 points in 24 games. Zaryski tied for the team-lead in power play goals with four and was also named to the all-tournament team at the 2008 NJCAA Men's Ice Hockey National Championship after scoring two goals in two games.

Merrow logged a team-high 941 minutes between the pipes for the Roos and went 9-5-1 with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage with one shutout.

Gronowski was second on the team in scoring and led all SUNY Canton freshmen with 13 goals and 24 points in 27 games. He tallied three power play goals and two game-winning goals.

Jordan Anderson of Mohawk Valley Community College was named the Region III Player of the Year. Craig Chamberlain of Monroe Community College was named Coach of the Year and Kevin McCready of Mohawk Valley was named the Rookie of the Year.
