(Troy, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton scored four unanswered goals and went on to stop Mohawk Valley Community College 4-1 Sunday morning at the Region III Showcase at Hudson Valley Community College. The Roos went 1-0-1 at the Showcase after tying Erie Community College on Saturday and they also improved to 6-4-2 in Region III and 8-5-2 overall.

Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.) and Mike Pearman (Anaheim, Calif.) scored a goal in each of the first two periods and then Eric Cook (Cary, N.Y.) and Kyle Simonds (Binghamton, N.Y.) tacked on two more in the final period for a 4-0 lead.

The Hawks finally got on the board when Jordan Anderson scored a short-handed, unassisted goal with 9:02 left in the game.

Brandon Mahler (Malone, N.Y.) stopped 17 of 18 shots he faced for the Roos.

Brian Frankel had 34 saves for Mohawk Valley.
