Small logo (Canton, N.Y.)-SUNY Canton couldn't overcome a dominating second period by Monroe Community College as they lost to the Tribunes 5-3 in a men's ice hockey game Sunday at the Canton Pavilion.

Monroe (7-1 Region III, 7-1-1) wiped out a 3-0 deficit by scoring five goals in the second period and out shooting the Roos 26-7.

SUNY Canton (5-4-1 Region III, 7-5-1) had led 2-0 after the first period on goals from Mike Pearman (Anaheim, Calif.) and Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.). Dylan Gronowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) made it 3-0 Roos when he scored just 53 seconds into the second period.

Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) finished with 41 saves for the Roos.

Tom Pappa, Allan Campisi, Chris O'Connor, Andrew Hartman and Matt Sauer all scored for the Tribunes and Danny Kuntz had 23 saves.
