(Canton, N.Y.)- The men's ice hockey team announced their 2009 team awards at the athletic department's year-end picnic on May 9.

The Roos Most Valuable Player was junior forward Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.). The business and finance major was an American Collegiate Hockey Association Academic All-American and an Eastern Collegiate Hockey League academic all-star. He was fourth on the team in scoring with nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points. He was second in the country among ACHA Division I players with five game-winning goals.

The Most Valuable Offensive Player was freshman forward and the Roos leading scorer Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.). Camp recorded a team-high 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points. He was one of only five players to appear in all 30 games and he had six power play goals and tied for the team lead with three unassisted goals.

The Most Valuable Defensive Player was junior defenseman Kevin O'Connell (Cadyville, N.Y.). O'Connell appeared in 29 games and had five goals and 14 assists for 19 points. He scored three power play goals and three of his five tallies were unassisted.

The Most Improved Player was freshman goalie Chris Lee (Gansevoort, N.Y.). Lee saw action in four games and made two starts finishing 2-0 with a 2.77 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage.

The Rookie of the Year was freshman forward Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.). In 26 games Liggio collected nine goals and seven assists for 16 points.

The 7th Player Award went to junior forward Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.). Levy was second on the team in scoring with nine goals and a team-high 16 assists for 25 points. He was scored two game-winning goals and was selected to ACHA Division I all-star game.

The Terry Martin Pride and Passion Award went to freshman forward Frank McHale (Bingamton, N.Y.).
