Men's Ice Hockey Drops First Game Losing to
Robert Morris 5-4
(Moon Township, Pa.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team saw their four-game winning streak to start the season snapped as they lost to No. 20 Robert Morris University Friday night in an Eastern Collegiate Hockey League game in Moon Township, Pa.
The Roos (1-1, 4-1) pulled within one goal when Pat Otwell (Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored a power play goal with 49 seconds left in regulation but that's as close as they would come. Otwell also had two assists for SUNY Canton.
Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals and had one assist for the Roos. Kevin O'Connell (Cadyville, N.Y.) also scored and Garrett Rosenbaum (Charleston, S.C.) chipped in with two assists.
Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) had a season-high 47 saves for SUNY Canton.
Jacob Javitt scored twice for the Colonials. Kevin Miller tallied the
game-winning goal at the 5:09 mark of the third period and Matt Wynn
collected 21 saves.
