Roos Knock of No. 21 Mercyhurst 4-3
(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team picked up a weekend sweep of Mercyhurst with a 5-3 win Sunday afternoon at the Canton Pavilion.
The Roos (3-2 ECHL, 8-5 overall) put up three goals in the first period and two more in the second to win their fourth straight game.
Pat Otwell (Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored his first of two goals at the 4:58 mark of the first to put the Roos up 1-0. Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) scored unassisted at the 10:17 mark and Joel Cardinal Shultz (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) then scored a power play goal at the 13:03 mark.
Otwell and Camp scored again in the second period and then Mercyhurst added a goal in the third period for the final score.
Dustin Deleel (Massena, N.Y.) had 30 saves on 33 shots for the Roos.
Blake Camlin, Pat Leone and Chad Thompson scored for Mercyhurst, ranked 21st in the nation. Adam Falkner had six saves and Dan Baggaley had 21 saves as the two combined in goal.
