Small logo Levy Nets Game-Winner As Roos Win 19th Straight Beating Syracuse 4-2

(Canton, N.Y.)- Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the second period powering the SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team to their 19th straight win beating Syracuse University 4-2 Friday night at the Canton Pavilion. The Roos are now 9-2 in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League and 23- 5 overall. The Orangemen fell to 4-6 in the league and 10-17 overall.

Syracuse took a 2-1 lead after the first period. The Orangemen jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 10:16 mark when Alex Lichorat scored from Mike Dillane. Dan Don (Gouverneur, N.Y.) tied the game at the 11:30 mark of the first off assists to Levy and Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.).

Syracuse went back ahead at the 13:32 mark when Lichorat set up Dillane for the go-ahead goal.

Liggio tied the game for the second time midway through the second period on assists to Don and Eric Cook (Cary, N.Y.). Levy then tallied his second game-winning goal of the year at the 13:26 mark from Joel Cardinal-Shultz (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and Pat Otwell (Orchard Park, N.Y.) added an insurance goal with 53 second left in regulation. Cardinal-Shultz and Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.) assisted on Otwell's goal.

Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) won his 13th game of the year stopping 26 shots for the Roos. Chris Lee (Gansevoort, N.Y.) came in for a minute of the second period and made one save.

Andrew Collinham had 24 saves for Syracuse.
