Box Score

Small logo (Canton, N.Y.)-The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team lost to Carleton University 4-3 Sunday afternoon at the Canton Pavilion.

The Northstars (5-3-1) built a 3-0 lead in the first period but watched that slip away as the Ravens scored a goal late in the period, two more in the second and the game-winner in the third.

Josh Gilson (Canton, N.Y.) put SUNY Canton ahead 1:17 into the opening period scoring his third goal of the season from Jeremy Kolb (Rush, N.Y.) and Jeff Kasprzak (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) following a scrum in front of the net.  Two minutes later the Ravens were on the power play and Kolb forced a turnover in the Northstars offensive zone, skated in and scored unassisted for a 2-0 lead.  It was Kolb's third goal of the year and his first one short-handed.  The lead was stretched to 3-0 with 10:58 left in the period when Matt Bailey (Parishville, N.Y.) took a nice feed from Kyle Laurie (Canton, N.Y.), skated across the slot and wristed in his fourth goal of the year and second of the weekend.

Carleton got one back with 32 seconds remaining when Ryan Quinn scored from Dave Lindsman.

Tom Reid added two goals in the second period for the Ravens and then Rob Hunt tallied the game-winning goal at the 3:50 mark of the third period when he one-timed a centering pass from Jason Vadja from behind the net.

Spencer Utman (Brockville, N.Y.) started in goal for SUNY Canton and made 27 saves in the first period and part of the second allowing one goal.  Dustin Deleel (Massena, N.Y.) came in and finished with 11 saves while giving up three goals.

Elias Rassi made 18 saves for the Ravens.
