(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team
rallied with two goals in the third period to tie Carleton University
3-3 Wednesday night at the Ogdensburg Golden Dome.
The Northstars (7-7-2) fell behind 3-1 after two periods even after
out shooting the Ravens 33-16. Rob Hunt scored for Carleton in
the first period and then Thomas Reid connected giving Carleton a 2-0
lead six minutes into the second period.
Matt Bailey (Parishville, N.Y.) then cut the lead in half scoring a power play goal from Kyle Laurie (Canton, N.Y.) and Jeremy Kolb at the 7:51 mark of the second. Coulson Roberts then extended the lead back to two goals scoring just under a minute later.
That lead held until the 13:41 mark of the third period when Nick Emmick (Richford, N.Y.) scored from Bailey and Laurie to again make it a one goal game. Then with a Ravens player in the box for roughing, Laurie tied the game at the 14:38 mark on assists to Emmick and Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.).
For the game SUNY Canton out shot Carleton 51-32 as Spencer Utman
(Brockville, N.Y.) finished with 29 saves for the Northstars and Jeremy
Silburt had 48 saves for Carleton.
