(Cicero, N.Y.)- Pat Semeraro (Cortland, N.Y.) scored three goals as the SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team skated past the Syracuse Stars 5-4 in overtime Sunday afternoon in Cicero.

Semeraro scored just 31 seconds into the game for the Northstars (9-7-2 overall) and then connected twice more in the third period for his first career hat trick and second for a Northstars player this weekend.

The Stars led 2-1 after two periods and the third period featured three ties, the last coming when Semeraro scored from Matt Bailey (Parishville, N.Y.) and Nick Emmick (Richford, N.Y.) with 8:43 remaining that would send the game into overtime.

In overtime, Anthony Gruppo (Williamsville, N.Y.), who had a hat trick on Saturday, struck quickly scoring just 28 seconds in from Bailey and Emmick for the game-winning goal.

Emmick finished with a goal and two assists and Bailey and Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) each added two assists.

Spencer Utman (Brockville, N.Y.) recorded a career-high 49 saves in goal for SUNY Canton.

Shaun Walsh and Jesse Brown each had a goal and two assists for Syracuse and Tyler Brown added a goal and an assist.
