(Ogdensburg, N.Y.)- Kyle Kearney (Fayetteville, N.Y.) pitched a complete game and Keith Shults (Canajoharie, N.Y.) blasted a grand slam leading the SUNY Canton baseball team to a 12-5 win over the College of St. Joseph on Sunday in Ogdensburg. The Roos (4-4 Sunrise Conference, 4-8 overall) ran their winning steak to four games with a 14-4 win in five innings in the nightcap.

Kearney struck out six batters and scattered eight hits over seven innings for the Roos and Shults had his first home run of the season. Pete Collins (Cobleskill, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs and Jacques DeMars (Vermontville, N.Y.) added a double and a single.

Garrett Brewer allowed eight hits and six walks with three strikeouts in six innings for the Fighting Saints. Brewer also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

In the nightcap Anthony Brauchle (Clay, N.Y.) fanned six batters and gave up four hits in five innings for SUNY Canton. Jerome Branagan (Croghan, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs. Sean Swinegar (Schenectady, N.Y.) was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Brandon Mahler (Malone, N.Y.) was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Sean Hamel was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for St. Joseph and Brewer added a double and two RBIs.
