Lucky McFadden stretches to get a Fisher runner out at first base
Roos Fall to Fisher College 11-0 In Region X Tournament
(Haverhill, Mass.)- SUNY Canton lost to Fisher College 11-0 in the second round of the Sunrise Conference / Region X baseball tournament Thursday morning in Haverhill, Mass. The Roos (7-11) will play Vermont Technical College for the second time in the double elimination tournament at 3 p.m. today. The winner will face Fisher tonight at 7 p.m. in the championship game. If Fisher loses a deciding game will be played on Friday.
After Evan Tardugno gave up a first inning single to Pete Collins (Cobleskill, N.Y.) he shut the Roos down the rest of the game as he struck out 13 batters and allowed just three hits and two walks in the complete game shutout. Jason Barringer (Walkill, N.Y.) singled in the eighth inning and Collins singled again in the ninth inning for the Roos only hits on the day.
Kyle Kearney (Fayetteville, N.Y.) surrendered nine runs on 12 hits through six innings for SUNY Canton. Steven Wozniak (Redwood, N.Y.) came on in relief and gave up two runs on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in three innings.
Jose Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs and two RBIs for the Falcons who advanced to the second round after beating the College of St. Joseph 26-1 on Wednesday. Eddy Delcarmen was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs and Anthony Perry added a solo home run and three runs for Fisher.
