Roos Drop a Pair to Cazenovia 7-4, 7-2

(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team dropped a pair of games to Cazenovia College in their first home games on their new field Wednesday in Canton. The Roos lost 7-4 and 7-2 to fall to 0-12 overall while Cazenovia improved to 10-9 overall.
In game one Jeff LaDuca (Syracuse, N.Y.) surrendered 12 hits and six earned runs with two strikeouts in seven innings on the mound for the Roos.
Adam Blair (Perth, Ontario) went 1-for-3 with an RBI single for SUNY Canton. Ramsey Locke (Canton, N.Y.) went 1-for-3 with a run and Zeuxi De La Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) added a sacrifice fly RBI in the sixth inning.
Dan Baird and Erik White combined on the win for Cazenovia allowing four hits and one walk with six strikeouts. Chad Salls went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run. Cory Schad also homered for the Wildcats and Bryan Atkins added two singles and a run.
In the nightcap Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) took the loss for the Roos as he yielded 11 hits in seven innings.
Justin Storie (Hammond, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 including an RBI double in the sixth inning. Matt Myers (Brandon, Vt.) added a single and a run and Jacques DeMars (Vermontville, N.Y.) drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Four pitchers combined on the mound for Cazenovia. Tim Nye, Joe Fontacone, Justin Treator and Joe Pallone gave up just six hits and one earned run in seven innings.
Atkins had two singles and run. Schad had a two-run single in the seventh and Adam Coglitore added two singles for Cazenovia.
