(Canton, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton completed a weekend sweep of the college of St. Joseph by beating the Fighting Saints 16-0 and 22-1 on Sunday in Canton. The Roos improved to 4-10 in the Sunrise Conference and 4-12 overall.

In the first game the Roos scored 12 runs in the first inning to cruise to the win.

Adam Blair (Perth, Ontario) led the way at the plate going 3-for-4, including a double, three runs and two RBIs. Jacques DeMars (Vermontville, N.Y.) had a double, a triple, four RBIs and three runs. Justin Storie (Hammond, N.Y.) added a triple, three RBIs and three run.

Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) started on the mound and didn't allow a hit in three innings of work. Levy struck out five batters and gave up just one walk. Jeff LaDuca (Syracuse, N.Y.) surrendered one hit and one walk with two strikeouts in two innings.

Tim Riel had the lone hit for St. Joseph and Brandon Fox and Brian Lashway combined to yield 15 hits to the Roos.

In the second game the Roos pounded out 24 hits and had another big first inning scoring 15 runs.

Nate Besaw (Massena, N.Y.) went 4-for-4, all singles, with two runs and an RBI for the Roos. Blair added three more hits, two runs and two RBIs. Storie was 4-for-5 with a double and four runs and DeMars went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs.

Matt Myers (Brandon, Vt.) struck out four batters and gave up one hit and four walks in three innings. Jared Wallace (New Russia, N.Y.) gave up one hit and had one strikeout in one inning and DeMars pitched the fifth inning and yielded two walks and recorded one strikeout.

The Roos wrap up their regular season on Tuesday with a home doubleheader against SUNYIT and then move on to the Sunrise Conference playoffs next weekend in Boston.
