Roos Swept by Fisher 15-1 and 12-2

(Haverhill, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team was swept by Fisher College on Sunday losing 15-1 and 12-2 at Haverhill Stadium in Haverhill, Mass. The Roos dropped to 0-8 overall and in the Sunrise Conference while the Falcons moved to 10-0 in the conference and 16-13 overall.
In the opener Adam Blair (Perth, Ontario) (left) scored the Roos only run when he drew a walk in the top of the first inning, stole second and third and then scored on a passed ball. Blair ended with two walks and three stolen bases.
Matt Myers (Brandon, Vt.) struck out three batters and surrendered 13 hits for SUNY Canton.
Zack Thompson tossed a no-hitter for Fisher as struck out five batters in a solid outing. Kevin Ryan went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Edwin Pena added three hits and a run.
In the nightcap Blair fanned six batters and allowed 10 hits in five innings. Blair also had a single. Jeff LaDuca (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Nate Besaw (Massena, N.Y.) each walked and scored a run in the third inning. LaDuca scored on a passed ball and Besaw on a ground out by Jacques DeMars (Vermontville, N.Y.).
Eddie Delcarmen, Mark Dorso and Austin Brodie combined to hold the Roos to two hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Pena added three more hits including a pair of home runs in the second and third innings. Jamie Navas added an RBI double and three runs for Fisher.
