(Canton, N.Y.)- Byron Jones (Glenarden, Md.) scored a career-high 28 points but it wasn't enough as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team dropped a 78-69 decision to Vermont Technical College on Saturday at Burkman Gym at St. Lawrence University. The Roos are now 1-6 in the Sunrise Conference and 2-15 overall while the Green Knights improved to 3-4 and 6-12.

Jones buried four 3-pointers, shot 10-for-12 from the free throw line and also had six rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Charles McCoy (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 22 points and hauled in five rebounds for the Roos. Jamelle Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Che Terrazas (Rosenberg, Texas) each had five points and Andre White (Bronx, N.Y.) added four points and seven rebounds.

Nathan Kirwan led three Vermont Tech players in double figures with 21 points, including four treys. Justin Wilson added 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals and Travon Groves contributed 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.
