Roos Win Second Straight Beating Paul Smith's 60-58
(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's basketball team won their second
straight Sunrise Conference game on Tuesday as they beat Paul Smith's
College 60-58 at St. Lawrence University's Burkman Gym. The Roos have
now won three of their last four games and improved to 3-6 in the conference
and 4-15 overall. The Bobcats saw their two-game winning streak snapped
and fell to 4-5 and 4-14.
After Andre White (Bronx, N.Y.) sank two free throws to give the Roos a 10-point lead with nearly six minutes left, the Bobcats rallied back to pull within three points after a 3-pointer from Jimmy Noel with just over a minute remaining in the second half.
SUNY Canton answered with a fast break basket from White who sank another free throw after being fouled on the play. The Roos then went 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final 20 seconds to ice the game.
Charles McCoy (Bronx, NY.), who was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week, had another solid all-around game with 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists. McCoy was 6-for-6 from the free throw line including four straight in the waning seconds of regulation.

Noel finished with three 3-pointers and 19 points, five rebounds and
