Roos Drop Close 65-62 Decision To Vermont

(Randolph Center, Vt.)- The SUNY Canton men's basketball team couldn't hold a halftime lead as they dropped a close 65-62 decision to Vermont Technical College in their Sunrise Conference opener on Saturday in Vermont. The Roos fell to 0-1 and 0-11 overall.
Deric Alton (Jacksonville, N.C.) led the Roos, who led 28-25 at the half, with a season-high 22 points and four rebounds.
Silvon John (Bronx, N.Y.) supplied 17 points and six rebounds and Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) chipped in with 16 points, five assists and three steals.
Sean Smith led Vermont Tech with 21 points and eight rebounds. Marquise
King contributed 20 points and six boards.
