Roos Beaten By Fisher 100-75

(Potsdam, N.Y.)- Fisher College used a strong spurt midway through the first half to capture a 100-75 win over SUNY Canton in a Sunrise Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Clarkson University. The Roos fell to 0-2 in the conference and 0-12 overall while the Falcons improved to 3-0 and 10-9.
After jumping out a to a 10-5 lead four minutes into the game Fisher reeled off a 19-4 run over the next seven minutes to seize control of the game.
The loss didn't overshadow a sensational game from junior forward Silvon John (Bronx, N.Y.) who scored 25 points and hauled in 22 rebounds, including 12 on the offensive end, for SUNY Canton.
Three other Roos reached double figures. Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.C.) added 14 points, six rebounds and three assists and Josh Wilson (Chaumont, N.Y.) contributed 13 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Louis Williams led five Falcons in double figures with 22 points, including four threes, and four rebounds. Ryan Henry had 14 points, Oscar Brown 11 and Casey Pursell and Dennis Norford each had 10 points apiece. Norford also grabbed 16 rebounds for the double-double.
