Small logo Roos Can't Dig Out of Halftime Deficit and Lose to Fort Kent 97-66

(Fort Kent, Maine)-The SUNY Canton men's basketball team couldn't recover from a large halftime deficit as they lost to the University of Maine at Fort Kent 97-66 Saturday in Maine. The Roos fell to 1-4 in the Sunrise Conference and 1-14 overall while the Bengals moved to 3-2 and 9-10.

SUNY Canton fell behind 52-25 at halftime but was only outscored by four points in the second half.

The Roos leading scorer, Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.), led the way on Saturday with 19 points, seven assists and four rebounds.

Silvon John (Bronx, N.Y.) collected his fourth straight double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Wilson (Chaumont, N.Y.) added 15 points and Jeff Grenier (Whitehall, N.Y.) added eight points and six boards.

Brandon Fox scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to pace the Bengals. Hamill Bassue and Othniel Hyliger each added 12 points and seven rebounds apiece for Fort Kent.
