Roos Can't Overcome Halftime Deficit in 83-48 Loss to Machias

(Machias, Maine)- The University of Maine at Machias had three players reach double figures in scoring as they handed the SUNY Canton men's basketball team an 83-48 loss Saturday in Maine. The Roos dropped to 2-8 in the Sunrise Conference and 2-18 overall while the Clippers improved to 10-2 in the conference and 18-7 overall.
Silvon John (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Roos, who trailed 49-23 at halftime.
Jeff Grenier (Whitehall, N.Y.) added eight points and four rebounds for SUNY Canton and Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.C.) contributed seven points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Eric Righter led the Clippers with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. Gerardo knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points and five assists. Matt Nelson also had 11 points along with two rebounds and two steals.
