Small logo Roos Finish Fifth At NAIA Qualifying Meet In Nashville

(Nashville, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's cross country team placed fifth at an NAIA qualifying meet against the TranSouth Confernece Saturday afternoon at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, Tenn.

The Roos ran against teams from Sunrise Conference opponents Paul Smith's College, Vermont Technical College and the University of Maine at Presque Isle along with TranSouth members Union College, who won the meet, Blue Mountain College, Bethel and Lyon.

Justin Forth (Gouverneur, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Roos as he completed the 8K course in a time of 29:08 and just missed qualifying for the NAIA national meet by one place. Ben Villani (Syracuse, N.Y.) followed Forth in 11th place in a time of 29:15.

Byron Danis (Rennselaer Falls, N.Y.) came in 16th (30:12), Alex Marroquin (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) was 36th (34:58) and Adam Benedict (Norfolk, N.Y.) was 42nd (41:38).
