(Potsdam, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton and University of Maine at Fort
Kent men's soccer teams entered Saturday's game with unblemished marks
in the Sunrise Conference. Fort Kent stayed that way at the end of the
game as they handed the Roos their first conference loss with a 4-0
win in Potsdam.
SUNY Canton fell to 3-1 in the conference and 3-3 overall while the Bengals, who just missed out on the NAIA Top 25 this past week, improved to 3-0 in the conference and 7-0 overall.
Fort Kent out shot the Roos 20-6 and three of the four goals were scored by three of the top seven scorers in the conference. Andre Anderson, who leads the conference in scoring, had one goal and one assist. Dwayne Smith and Andrew Martin also scored and the final goal was an own goal by SUNY Canton late in the second half.
Steven Bullock (Edwards, N.Y.) had 12 saves for the Roos and Derick Plourde had four saves for the Bengals.
