Small logo LaFave, Kenyon, Vander Wiel and Morley Honored by Sunrise Conference 3/1/09 (Canton, N.Y.)- Sophomore forward Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.), freshman guard Brittany Kenyon (Hammond, N.Y.), junior forward Julie Vander Wiel (Malone, N.Y.) and freshman forward Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) have been honored by the Sunrise Conference. LaFave and Kenyon were both named to the all-Sunrise Conference Second Team. Kenyon was named Rookie of the Year and Vander Wiel and Morley received academic recognition. The awards were handed out at a banquet prior to the conference tournament in Concord, N.H.....Full Story

Small logo Roos Fall to Presque Isle 64-53 in Sunrise Conference Tournament 2/28/09-(Concord, N.H.)- No. 2 University of Maine at Presque Isle used a 7-0 run late in the second half to pull out a 64-53 win over No. 3 SUNY Canton in the second semifinal of the Sunrise Conference women's basketball championships at New Hampshire Technical Institute on Saturday. The Owls (13-8) advance to the championship game on Sunday against top-seeded University of Maine at Fort Kent who beat No. 4 Fisher College 73-48 in the other semifinal.....Full Story

Small logo Roos Awarded Third Seed in Conference Tournament 2/27/09-(Canton,N.Y.)- SUNY Canton has earned the third seed in the upcoming Sunrise Conference women's basketball championsips. The Roos will play No. 2 University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. at New Hampshire Technical College in Concord. Top-seeded University of Maine at Fort Kent will play No. 4 Fisher College at 1 p.m. The championship game will be on Sunday at 1 p.m....Full Story

Small logo Maynard and Davidson Honored by Sunrise Conference 2/24/09-(Canton, N.Y.)- Junior forward Jackie Maynard (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) and freshman forward Nicole Davidson (Hammond, N.Y.) of the women’s basketball team have been honored by the Sunrise Conference. Maynard was named co-Player of the Week and Davidson earned Rookie of the Week accolades for the second time this season...Full Story

Small logo Roos Rally to Beat Presque Isle 57-51 2/22/09-(Potsdam, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton rallied to beat the University of Maine at Presque Isle 57-51 Sunday afternoon at Clarkson University's Alumni Gym. The Roos improved to 9-3 in the Sunrise Conference and 10-14 overall on Pink Day. SUNY Canton joined the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in the Pink Zone initiative, a global effort to raise awareness for breast cancer. The Roos and SUNY Canton staff wore special pink t-shirts and held several fundraisers during the game. All proceeds will go towards the American Cancer Society and Coaches vs. Cancer...Full Story

Small logo Roos Fall to Fort Kent 58-48 2/21/09-(Potsdam, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team couldn't dig themselves out of a large halftime deficit as they lost to the Unviversity of Maine at Fort Kent 58-48 Saturday night at Clarkson Alumni Gym. The Roos had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 8-3 in the Sunrise Conference and 9-14 overall. Small logo Roos Win Fourth Straight With 66-52 Win Over Fisher 2/15/09-(Boston, Mass.)- Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for her third double-double of the year leading the SUNY Canton women's basketball team past Fisher College 66-52 Sunday afternoon in Boston for their fourth straight win. The Roos improved to 8-2 in the Sunrise Conference and 9-13 overall while the Falcons dropped to 4-6 and 6-16.....Full Story
