(Utica, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team lost to Mohawk Valley Community College 65-52 in the championship game of the Hawks tournament on Sunday in Utica.

The Roos were led by Alicia Abbey (Mayville, N.Y.) who went 7-for-11 from the free throw line for a game-high 21 points.

Erin Tulip (Constable, N.Y.) added 10 points. Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) had eight points and Kristi Farell (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) chipped in with seven.

Shanai Norman paced the Hawks with 20 points. Shantel Dunston scored 11 points and Leah Van Voorhis added eight.

Abbey and Lauren Ploof (Hammond, N.Y.), who scored two points on Sunday, were both named to the all-tournament team.
