The Highlanders (7-7) used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to pull ahead of the Roos (2-6) for good. The score had been tied 32-32 at halftime.

Lauren Ploof (Hammond, N.Y.) dropped in a game-high 21 points and grabbed five rebounds for SUNY Canton.

Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) scored 13 points and pulled in four boards for the Roos. Megan Davis (Hammond, N.Y.) contributed eight points and Jackie Maynard (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) and Julie Vander Wiel (Malone, N.Y.) each added six points apiece.

Houghton was led by Cassie Merrill who scored 17 points and dished out three assists. Becky Kallal added 14 points and three rebounds and Ashley Dupler and Leah French each had 13 points each.
