(Randolph Center, Vt.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team opened their Sunrise Conference schedule with a 70-45 win over Vermont Technical College Saturday afternoon in Randolph Center, Vt. The Roos won their second straight game improving to 1-0 in the conference and 2-10 overall.
The Roos, who led 40-16 at halftime, came up with 22 steals in the game and capitalized on 33 Green Knight turnovers.
Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) dropped in 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and made five steals to lead the Roos. Brittany Kenyon (Hammond, N.Y.) had 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals and Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) added 10 rebounds, seven points and four steals.
Eliza Wakefield led Vermont Tech with 16 points, 12 rebounds, nine blocks
and four steals. Stacey White chipped in with 10 points and six boards.
