Roos Topple Lake Erie 72-52

(Pepper Pike, Ohio)- Mindy Small (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) turned in another solid all-around performance leading the SUNY Canton women's basketball team to a 72-52 win over Lake Erie College in the consolation game of the Ursuline College Tournament in Ohio on Sunday.
Small was named to the all-tournament team after helping the Roos (1-7) win their first game of the year with nine points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. It was the second time this season that Small received all-tournament honors. The sophomore also received the award at the SUNYIT Tournament in November.
The Roos put together another dominating rebounding performance with a 47-22 advantage over the Storm. SUNY Canton also buried 10 3-pointers, shot 55 percent from the floor and hit all four of their free throw attempts.
Jackie Maynard (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) and Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) each notched double-doubles for the Roos. Maynard had 13 points and 10 boards and Morley had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Kristi Farrell (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) added a team-high 19 points and seven assists and Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) chipped in with eight points and five boards.
Rachel Nypaver scored 20 points and snagged four rebounds for Lake Erie.
Alex Ardo had eight points and five rebounds and Rachel Pavella and
Kassie Tiller each added eight points apiece.
