Small logo Roos Suffer Second Conference Loss Losing to Presque Isle 73-63

(Presque Isle, Maine)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team suffered their second straight Sunrise Conference defeat as they lost to the University of Maine at Presque Isle 73-63 Sunday afternoon in Maine The Roos dropped to 3-2 in conference play and 4-12 overall while the Owls stayed unbeaten in the conference at 4-0 and moved to 6-5 overall.

Senior forward Erica Davis, last week's co-Player of the Week in the Sunrise Conference, was too much for the Roos to handle as she had 34 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals.

SUNY Canton had a two-point lead at halftime but was outscored by the Owls 45-33 in the second half.

Jackie Maynard (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) had a solid game for the Roos as the scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) added 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) contributed 10 points and five boards and Brittany Kenyon (Hammond, N.Y.) chipped in with nine points, four rebounds and four steals.

Megan Korhonen had 14 points and nine assists for Presque Owl. Emily Moore also scored 14 points to go along with four rebounds for the Owls.
