Head Coach Chris Marquart
Chris Marquart is in his second year as head coach of
the men's and women's cross country teams. In the team's inaugural year
in 2007 Marquart led the women's team to the Sunrise Conference championship
and the men's team to a second place finish. He was named the Women's
Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Marquart ran cross country for four years at Canton Central School and was also on the school’s indoor and spring track teams.
Following high school, Marquart ran for three years
at SUNY Geneseo where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history
and secondary education. During his senior year with the Knights,
Marquart was an assistant coach with the cross country teams at Keshequa
High School in Nuda, N.Y.
Marquart works as a residence hall director at SUNY
Canton and oversees the college’s running club which he started
two years ago. Marquart is currently working towards a master's
degree in education from St. Lawrence University.
