Small logo (Canton, N.Y.)- Six members of the SUNY Canton women's soccer tournament were honored by the Sunrise Conference at a brunch prior to the conference tournament at Portland, Maine. Junior midfielder Niki Perkins (Potsdam, N.Y.), senior defender Vanessa Badlam (Canton, N.Y.), sophomore forward Justine Monahan (Ellington, Conn.), sophomore goalie Aubrey Parrish (Greene, N.Y.), freshman defender Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) and head coach Al Benda were all honored at the brunch at Governors Restaurant.

Perkins was named the Offensive Player of the Year and to the all-conference team for the second year in a row. Perkins netted a team-leading 25 goals and finished with 58 points and 65 shots. Benda was named the conference Coach of the Year after leading the Roos to the regular season title and the top seed in the conference tournament.

Monahan, Badlam, who also made the all-conference team last year, Morley and Parrish joined Perkins on the all-conference team. Monahan led the Roos in total points (62), assists (24), and shots (76). Badlam, Morley and Parrish led a defense that limited opponents to 1.1 goals per game. Badlam had two goals and six points and Morley contributed on assist. Parrish played every minute in goal and finished with a 1.15 goals-against average, a .800 save percentage and nine shutouts.

Katie Moody of the University of Maine at Presque Isle was named the conference Defensive Player of the Week. Whitney Sinclair of the University of Maine at Fort Kent was named Rookie of the Year and Fisher College was given the Team Sportsmanship Award.
