Roos Blank Fort Kent 3-0 For Seventh Straight

(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's soccer team ran their winning streak to seven games on Saturday as they shut out the University of Maine at Fort Kent 3-0 in Canton. The Roos improved to 10-0-1 in the Sunrise Conference and 11-1-1 overall while the Bengals dropped to 7-2 and 10-3.
Niki Perkins (Potsdam, N.Y.) opened the scoring for the Roos 15 minutes into the game off an assist to Justine Monahan (Ellington, Conn.) Monahan then scored unassisted in the 35th minute and the Roos led 2-0 at halftime.
Ashley Winfield (Fort Plain, N.Y.) capped off the scoring in the 59th minute when she was able to beat a defender and slide a low shot past Bengals goalie Kayla Daigle. Monahan also assisted on that goal.
Aubrey Parrish (Greene, N.Y.) made two saves for her seventh shutout of the season.
Daigle finished with two saves as well.
