Roos Win Eighth Straight With 5-0 Win Over

(Canton, N.Y.)- Justine Monahan (Ellington, Conn.) had two goals and two assists leading the SUNY Canton women's soccer team past the University of Maine at Presque Isle 5-0 Sunday afternoon in Canton. The Roos won their eighth straight game improving to 11-0-1 in the Sunrise Conference and 12-1-1 overall. The Owls are now 6-3-1 and 9-4-2.
SUNY Canton built a 3-0 lead at halftime on goals from Monahan, Niki Perkins (Potsdam, N.Y.) and Cierra Wells (Madrida, N.Y.) and then Monahan and Perkins added goals in the second half.
Ashley Winfield (Fort Plain, N.Y.) contributed two assists for the Roos and Nikita Foster (Fort Covington, N.Y.) had one. Aubrey Parrish (Greene, N.Y.) made two saves for her eighth shutout of the year.
Billie Martin (4 saves) and Carolynn Tuck (0 saves) split time in goal for the Owls.
