(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team played their first NAIA and Sunrise Conference match on Sunday and it was an impressive opening as they beat Vermont Technical College 30-6, 30-7, and 30-14.

SUNY Canton (2-0) was led by junior Alicia Abbey (Mayville, N.Y.) (right) who had 14 aces and eight kills.

Freshman Brittany Hains (Mexico, N.Y.) passed out 26 assists and added eight aces. Junior Valerie Bova (Central Square, N.Y.) contributed 10 aces and eight kills and Sharlie McLean (Massena, N.Y.) added seven aces and six kills.
