Commencement

A Letter from the President

Dear Graduates and Families:

Commencement is a special time for all of us here at SUNY Canton. It is the time when we give pause to recognize the extraordinary achievement of our graduating students. It is the time when we remember just how hard one must work as a student in order to arrive at this very moment. Most important, it is the time when we celebrate the achievements of all of those who have persevered up to this day and deserve the diploma we will award at this year’s Commencement Ceremony. It is because of our graduates that SUNY Canton continues to be successful as an institution of higher education. Graduation is a special event that requires special attention.

The Commencement Committee has prepared this guide to acquaint you with the preparation necessary for this important occasion and has tried to answer the most frequently asked questions. Procedures have been established to preserve the ceremonial dignity that each graduate deserves. Please take time to read this guide carefully.

The faculty, staff, and administration at SUNY Canton look forward to seeing you at Commencement 2010.

Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph L. Kennedy
