Steps for BPI Certification

  1. Review the Policies & Procedures for BPI Certification

  2. Review the BPI Standards for each certification being considered.

  3. Determine if training is needed prior to attempting certification. BPI does not require nor administer training. Candidates seeking training may find BPI Recognized Training listed at www.bpi.org. It is not a requirement to use BPI Recognized Training.
  1. Submit a candidate application form:
    1. First time candidates register for the 100 question written examination. In addition to the written examination, candidates will be required to pass a field examination.
    2. Subsequent BPI certification attempts register for the 50 question written examination. In addition to the written examination, candidates will be required to pass a field examination
    3. EXAMINATION SESSION REQUEST FORM

  2. Schedule your exam(s) with SUNY Canton a BPI Affiliate or with BPI directly. Complete the applicable exams with a grade of 70% or higher to pass.

Once you start the process, you have one year to complete it before you will be required to start over as a new candidate.
