Energy Master Plan (NYPA)

Under the direction of the New York Power Authority (NYPA), PRES Energy will conduct comprehensive energy audits of the State University of New York at Canton (SUNY Canton) designated facilities. The purpose of these comprehensive energy audits is to identify existing conditions at each selected site, to propose measures that would increase energy efficiency of these sites and will be the basis to develop an Energy Master Plan for the selected sites.

During the development of the Energy Master Plan, PRES Energy will identify and recommend low-cost and no-cost energy efficiency opportunities; SUNY Canton may implement such measures immediately. While industry experience has shown that SUNY Canton will save energy from such actions, PRES Energy is unable to quantify those savings until the Energy Master Plan is complete.

The comprehensive energy audits will follow guidelines for an ASHRAE Level 2 audit as documented by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) “Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits, Second Edition 2011” (ASHRAE-2011) or the most current version published by ASHRAE, with pre-described deviations.
