Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program)
The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) enhance the knowledge, trust and professionalism of those conducting research. It is an educational tool that promotes ethical research for those that conduct and oversee research.
The university asks that all faculty who submit any applications for extramural funding (this would include any grant application or contract) complete the CITI courses on Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and Conflict of Interest (COI). These are short courses that include invaluable information for any level of researcher and are required by some granting agencies. Investigators will need to complete the COI course prior to acceptance of any grant or contract award and complete RCR training within one year of an award (or based on agency requirements).
In addition, all members of the IRB Committee must take the CITI Course on IRB Administration in order to keep apprised of all federal updates regarding Human Subject Research.
All CITI Certifications are good for three years.
If you have obtained CITI Certification at another institution, please affiliate yourself with SUNY Canton.
