Ten Things Faculty and Staff Can Do to Make SUNY Canton More Sustainable
- Make the most of natural lighting.
- Use compact fluorescent or LED bulbs in desk and computer lamps.
- Set up your Powerpoint documents in ANGEL so students print more than one slide per page.
- Use a smart power strip with your computer, monitor and peripherals.
- Include an article and/or book on sustainability-related topics in existing courses.
- Teach profession-specific sustainable best practices where appropriate.
- Get involved in campus sustainability efforts.
- Include sustainability-related goals in your School and department’s goals and objectives.
- Take sustainability issues into consideration when designing and implementing new courses, when applicable.
- Recycle glass metal, plastic and paper in your office and department.
