Sustainability Task Force
Mission StatementSUNY Canton’s Sustainability Task Force will work cooperatively with a broad cross section of the campus community to identify, evaluate, and coordinate environmentally prudent and sustainable initiatives which maintain and enhance the quality of the campus life while supporting the College’s mission as it meets the challenges of the 21st century. Such initiatives may include, but are not limited to energy efficiency, recycling, resource conservation, green building practices, alternative and renewable energy, educational programs, and cooperative community development efforts. The Taskforce will develop and implement programs to help bring the campus comply with, and hopefully exceed, standards set by State University of New York, the State of New York and the United States of America. The Sustainability Taskforce is committed to promoting a culture of environmental awareness both on campus and in the community and will strive for reducing the College’s footprint on the local, regional and global environment.
