Isreal Selkirk | Class of 2014

Isreal SelkirkHometown: Chateaugay, NY

Major: Engineering Science

College Involvement: Engineering Club, Math Lab Tutor

Career Goals: I hope to find a career in which I can make a difference, especially for our military, by developing more efficient tools and gear to protect our troops.

Additional Activities: I am an alter server at St. Patrick's in Chateaugay, I've worked on a farm for eighteen years, I've also been involved in painting large buildings, I like fishing, hiking, and the occasional game of football.

Areas of Interest: I have done research on different welding methods and machines and used my knowledge to create a chop saw table constructed from aluminum.

Reasons for Being in Honors Program: I am in the Honors Program because I want to be involved with people of like minds and interests, and to gain more information about the material in topics that interest me, such as welding for example. Without the Honors Program, I may not have had the opportunity to gain the deeper kind of insight into the material and even the people involved in the course. I am truly grateful for the Honors Program.
