The Canino School of Engineering Technology at SUNY Canton (Canton, NY) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) faculty position in Information Technology for the Fall 2017 semester. Duties include teaching and advising responsibilities in the Computer Information Systems (2-year associate), Information Technology (4-year baccalaureate), Graphic and Multimedia Design (4-year baccalaureate) and Game Design and Development programs, participation in college governance, school and college service, recruitment and retention of students, and program development. Other responsibilities may include advising student organizations, developing and maintaining articulation agreements with high schools, two-year institutions and international partners. Faculty members are also encouraged to collaborate in the areas of course development, research, and the pursuit of online education initiatives.

Doctoral degree in Information Technology or related discipline from an accredited institution is required for continuing appointment. Strong hands-on skills in computer game design and development / computer programming / computer networking and one year experience in animation/simulation related to other college programs (for example, biomedical and/or data simulation) is required. One year prior teaching experience teaching undergraduate courses is preferred.

Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
