The State University of New York at Canton is searching for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Director of Student Health Services. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Director of Health Services/ Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the overall design and coordination of a comprehensive student health program that provides consistent, quality, primary care to the undergraduate students of SUNY Canton, and has a strong focus on educating students about developing behaviors that will enhance their long-term quality of life. Specific responsibilities include: provision of competent, confidential, and respectful direct patient care; working with colleagues across campus to organize and deliver comprehensive health education; and all tasks consistent with the position as the administrator of the Health Services functional unit including hiring and supervising of staff; management of clinical protocols and recordkeeping; development and oversight of annual budget; participation in the divisional leadership team.


New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of three years of pertinent, direct patient care experience, ideally in the college/university setting. Candidates must have experience supervising professional staff, should have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple assignments concurrently, and demonstrate comfort working with diverse populations.
