SUNY Canton is seeking a Residence Hall Director beginning August 2018. Responsible for managing and supervising a 220+ bed residence hall, including community development, coordination of student programming, training/supervision of Resident Assistants and conflict resolution. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, a record of highly successful academic achievement and professional housing experience preferred. Successful applicants will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of creativity and the desire to take on challenging work in a fun, engaging and ever-changing environment. This position requires extensive evening and weekend hours as well as regular emergency contact duties. Our college offers pet friendly housing options for students, candidates with animal related experience are encouraged to apply. Ten-month position and includes an expense-free apartment within the residence hall. Fringe benefits include comprehensive health insurance coverage and tuition assistance.


Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.  Experience working in and/or living in college residence halls is strongly preferred.  Successful applicants will have a strong work ethic, an exceedingly positive attitude, a high level of creativity and the desire to take on challenging work in a fun, engaging and ever-changing environment.  Applicants must also proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint as well as social media networks.

Preferred Qualifications: A record of highly successful academic achievement, Master’s degree, and experience working as a live-in collegiate residence life professional.
