Gift Officer SL-2

SUNY Canton & Canton College Foundation invite applications for a motivated fundraiser to join a growing program. The gift officer plays an essential role in raising funds and building alumni connections. He/she manages a portfolio of prospects for outright and deferred gifts through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and also plans events and assists with outreach and volunteer management in a team-oriented environment. This position requires extensive travel and occasional evening and weekend work.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. In particular, he/she must be a careful listener who can gain the trust and respect of donors. The successful candidate must be energetic and hard-working with a “can do” attitude, should demonstrate the ability to work well with a diverse constituency, and be able to work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues throughout the campus.


Associate’s degree and a valid driver’s license required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least two years of fundraising experience or experience in a related field such as admissions, sales, or marketing is preferred. SUNY Canton alumni with relevant experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Salary and title commensurate with experience.
