Assistant Professor of Sociology-Tenure-Track

The School of Business and Liberal Arts at SUNY Canton invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor to begin in August 2019.

A 4/4 teaching load which may include a combination of face-to-face and online courses. Teaching assignments will vary based on expertise and may include: Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of the Family, Race and Ethnic Relations, Gender Studies, and American Social Problems.

Development of new courses in the candidate’s specialty for face-to-face and/or online delivery, student advisement, and participation in faculty governance, and course/program assessment. Scholarly research and college service activities are expected.

ABD considered.  Masters in Sociology from an accredited college, or Masters in field with 18 graduate credits in Sociology considered. Higher education teaching experience required.

Preferred: Ph.D. in Sociology preferred
Note: Ph.D. is required for tenure.
